Verio Inc, the Englewood, Colorado-based web and domain hosting company is collaborating with iMall Inc and First Data Corp’s First Data Merchant Service Corp division to produce VerioStore, a product the company calls an integrated set of software and services to establish storefronts on the web.

This is part of Verio’s move from pure internet services to e- commerce. Next up for the company, says VP corporate development, Sean Brophy is a move into the application service provider market, going up against the likes of USinternetworking, with applications such as ERP, productivity tools and others for use at a monthly rate.

Predictably enough, the software and services comes from iMall and First Data and the hosting from Verio in VerioStore, which is aimed at small to medium businesses. The company already uses software from Mercantec Corp for more experienced web developers, such as resellers that want to build a web store and host it at Verio’s site. Customers for VerioStore will be able to host it at iMall’s stuff.com site as part of this agreement. Last November First Data made an investment in iMall and the companies agreed to offer their transaction services and internet commerce software jointly.

Verio is pricing the service at $200 a month for up to 100 products for an unlimited number of transactions, which are processed through Old Kent Merchant Services, a merchant bank that has an alliance with FDMS. Verio says that if a would-be web site owner bought the software and services themselves, it would likely cost them an upfront payment of about $5,000, with a monthly payment of about $145. á
