Japanese internet consulting firm NSJ Corp has teamed up with Irish security products and services company Baltimore Technologies Ltd to supply cryptography software to Asia. Dublin-based Baltimore has developed cryptography technology that is free from US regulations, and will provide NSJ which software that will provide 128-bit, high level encryption. The software is based around Baltimore’s UniCert, a modular, scalable and flexible Certification Authority which provides advanced security frameworks for electronic commerce systems such as internet commerce, web banking and online trading. UniCert facilitates authentication of parties for electronic transactions by establishing a secure certified relationship between issued public keys and the owners of these keys. It then generates and certifies unique commercial strength RSA keys. The idea behind the system that Tokyo-based NSJ will provide, is to enable users of the cryptography software to make their own certification without being certified by a third party certification organization. Baltimore Technologies was founded in 1979 and employs 45 staff.
