IBM has introduced its Content Navigator, a new software that helps employees to access broad range of business information to do their jobs effectively from their desktops, mobile phones and tablets.
The new software is built upon open standards like HTML5 and CMIS for for a consistent user experience across mobile devices, operating systems and content sources.
IBM’s new release allows traditional and mobile workforce to access and manage insights from structured and unstructured content like emails, documents, images, and web data, securely.
Content Navigator also gives the employees with the access to the right data, anytime, anywhere. It also helps employees to set up collaboration areas with minimal IT help.
The new software is optimised for departments such as sales, human resources, finance or legal to customise the application for their specific business needs.
Content analytics and enterprise search capabilities are an integral part of the IBM Content Navigator experience, enabling users to locate content across IBM and third-party repositories, with thumbnails, facets, summaries and term highlighting.
The new application provides accurate and relevant insights from content such as documents, reports, e-mails, Web content, surveys and enterprise applications, the company said.
IBM has also integrated its content analytics software with a component of IBM’s big data platform, InfoSphere BigInsights, which allows clients to derive enhanced insights from unstructured information within and outside the enterprise.
IBM Enterprise Content Management Leader Doug Hunt said the company is enabling clients to make content available in any context to help them deal with the information sprawl of big data.
"It’s key that clients can now drive business insights from enterprise content and share collaboration content with others who need it," Hunt said.
