Compaq Computer Corp and Teleplan International NV have set a February 1 2000 target date for the final transfer of the US computer maker’s Nijmegen, Netherlands warranty service center to the Dutch company. The Nijmegen facility performs repairs under warranty on Compaq PCBs for laptops, desktops and servers, and on Digital Equipment (DEC) legacy VAX and storage products. Its transfer to Teleplan is part of a Compaq strategy to outsource non-core activity in favor of concentrating on after sales customer service.
