HP has upgraded its thin clients with Windows Embedded Standard 7 WS7P SKU to help its customers expand multitouch business applications.

The HP t610 Flexible Thin Client with Windows Embedded Standard 7 WS7P SKU will enable banking and retail self-services to deploy multitouch digital signage and kiosks.

Windows Embedded Standard 7 WS7P SKU also offers enhanced security lockdown, enriched media capabilities and efficient network management, the company said.

HP thin clients running Windows Embedded Standard 7 WS7P SKU will offer Microsoft DirectAccess, which will enable customers to secure their remote workforce, without the need for a VPN.

It will allow remote users securely access enterprise resources as well as allow businesses to customise and control policies.

It will also offer Windows Server BranchCache for wide area network (WAN) optimisation, which helps increase the network responsiveness of applications.

HP Thin Clients Marketing director Jeff Groudan said HP thin clients with Windows Embedded Standard 7 WS7P SKU is suitable for businesses who want to add multitouch capabilities to thin clients powering retail or hospitality kiosks, or who want to customise and control user access policies effectively.

"The increased versatility of the Windows Embedded Standard platform will provide HP thin client customers with new options to drive their cloud business strategies," Groudan said.
