BMC Software Inc is expanding its Asia-Pacific operations, and has agreed to acquire Open Technology Ltd, a New Zealand-based systems management company, on undisclosed terms. BMC says privately-held OTL’s services methodology fits with its own, and OTL has been distributing BMC software and services in New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region. The company has about 50 staff.
As part of the deal, BMC will also acquire all of OTL’s subsidiary, OTL Australia Pty and a minority interest in another subsidiary, Open Technology Software Ltd, which builds and supports niche software products for integrating business and operational software using BMC’s Patrol.
