Mensch und Maschine Software AG, the German developer of CAD systems based in Wessling, has reported nine-month net profits up 92% at $1.6m on revenues up 68% at $65.9m. Part of the revenue growth can be attributed to the inclusion of business from CADFrance SA, the French market leader in this segment, which was acquired by Mensch und Maschine in July. In the same month, the company took over the CAD activities of Italian market leader, Milan-based Micrograph (CI No 3,506), and in September it increased its share in another Italian firm, Channel srl, also from Milan, from 51% to 100%. As a result of these acquisitions and the strength of its home market in Germany, MuM has increased its forecast for revenues for 1998, now predicted to reach $96m. The net profit for the entire year, meanwhile, is predicted to reach $2.8m.
