The chief of Danish incumbent telco Tele-Danmark AS Hanz Wurzen, has resigned after shareholders voted to approve the deal to sell a controlling interest to US regional Bell Ameritech Corp. Ameritech had previously agreed to pay $3bn for a 34% stake in Tele Danmark, which will be upped to a 42% stake with a Tele Danmark buy back of 17% worth of its shares from the Danish government. The two deals fully sell the Danish government’s 51% stake in the company, that is now fully privatized. A new chief executive Hans Murk Jensen, has been elected as acting chief until a permanent replacement is found.
