Advanced Micro Devices Inc and Intel Corp both have processor price cuts coming in July, according to two unofficial AMD- dedicated web sites. AMD is expected to announce price cuts on July 5, while Intel is expected to announce its latest prices on July 18.
Meanwhile, Ace’s Hardware suggests that chip infrastructure manufacturers Gigabyte, Asus and Microstar, all have samples of Slot A AMD Athlon-supporting motherboards ready to ship in the July-to-August time frame. Via Technologies’ also has an AMD board that will be called the KX series and will feature four AGP ports and PC133 Double Data Rate DRAM support.
