Alcatel-Lucent has launched products to help communications providers bring gigabit-speed ultra-broadband access in connected homes.
The 7368 Intelligent Service Access Manager (ISAM) optical network terminal is a network hub that ensures consistent distribution of broadband speed throughout the building. It uses dual-band wi-fi and a more powerful signal to provide 1Gps of bandwidth and better in-home coverage.
The networking provider has also introduced ONT Easy, an online activation feature combining Alcatel-Lucent’s Motive customer experience management solutions with service functions to allow consumers to activate fibre-to-the-home services through a web portal.
The products tap into the growing market for high quality connectivity in the home, which is becoming a more prominent issue as more and more devices sit on networks.
Alcatel-Lucent recently announced that it will be acquired by Nokia.
