Intel has partnered with Chinese company Huawei to offer public cloud solutions to telecom companies.
The collaboration will leverage Intel’s technology expertise and Huawei’s information and communications technology knowledge to hep telecom companies offer carrier grade cloud services to enterprises and other users.
Huawei’s IT Product Line president Zheng Yelai said, "By working together, we aim to provide strong support for the upcoming business transformation among carriers across the globe."
Both the companies plan to develop scalable, optimised and cost-efficient hardware and software platforms for telecoms carriers to use as they deploy cloud-specific usage models across server, storage, network and infrastructure management technologies.
Telcos can also boost their performance using Huawei’s FusionSphere running on Intel architecture, DPDK, and OpenvSwitch.
The combined offering is claimed to boost network virtualisation of Huawei‘s platforms to offer companies an improved cloud solution.
Intel Cloud Platforms Group vice president and general manager Jason Waxman said, "Industry collaboration will foster innovation to deliver the latest Cloud technology to Telecommunications Service Providers.
"Huawei’s efforts with Intel to develop the next generation FusionSphere products using Intel technology will enable service providers to deliver high performing, secure, and agile cloud services."
