Oracle Corp yesterday announced today a new product to enable mid-sized companies to automate and analyze the budgeting process. The Redwood Shores, California database giant said the FastForward Budgeting application includes Oracle Financial Analyzer, Express Server, education and support coupled with consulting services to provide customers with a budgeting application in approximately 30 business days. The software, which is available immediately in the US, is the newest addition to Oracle’s family of e-business solutions for mid-sized companies. With an automated budgeting process, Oracle says that companies can save time and minimize data entry errors, allowing them to focus on data analysis in order to better manage their day-to-day operations.

The software also includes a set of tools to help control costs and analyze performance. Of the individual components, Oracle Financial Analyzer enables users to identify, analyze, model, budget, forecast and report on information stored in a general ledger, while Oracle Express Server provides the on- line analytical processing (OLAP) capabilities for ‘what if’ scenarios and financial modeling. FastForward Budgeting can import data from any general ledger application, including Oracle’s own ledger application. Pricing starts at $100,000 and also includes a tailored education package and one year’s support.
