The first of which is the offering of a wireless service that will allow Globo Cabo subscribers to select and purchase a series of products (optional channels, pay-per-view items such as shows and sporting events, conferences and product purchases on channels) using their cellular telephones much like a remote control.

To enable such services, joint Globo Cabo and Telesp Celular customers need only to register their cellular phones, their decoder boxes and select a password through Globo Cabo’s Customer Service or on its website. Once registered, customers will be able to execute a series of transactions by cellular phone, without the need to contact Customer Service.

The ability to offer these services is a result of the operational integration of the two companies’ networks (Globo Cabo’s broadband and Telesp Celular’s wireless) made possible over Telesp Celular’s wireless Internet service platform, WAAAP.All of Telesp Celular’s WAAAP service users will be able to access a variety of pay-TV and broadband (Vírtua) services, such as daily programming searches of Globo Cabo channels, hints on available programming and subscription to all of Globo Cabo’s services.

Subscribers will be able to access exclusive content on Telesp Celular’s WAAAP

service menu by selecting the item TV/Radio. Users will be able to browse

summarized content (tailor-made for this application) from Globo Cabo and Vírtua.

This service will be available to Telesp Celular customers with WAP compatible

cellular phones and will not carry any additional charges other than the cost of the call itself.

This is the first agreement of its kind in the telecommunications sector anywhere in the world, remarked Moysés Pluciennik, CEO of Globo Cabo. This partnership shows our commitment to fulfilling one of our main objectives to be everywhere possible using all of the digital and interactive technologies to reach our clients and potential users in the fastest and friendliest way possible.
