Micro Focus Group PLC has bought its privately-owned Italian distributor in a $4.3m cash deal. The operation, known as Micro Focus Italia srl, recorded revenue of around $4.4m and an operating profit of $460,000 in the first nine months of its current financial year. Micro Focus president and CEO Martin Waters said: This acquisition allows Micro Focus to extend its offerings into the fourth largest IT market in Europe. The distributor has been solely responsible for the full range of Micro Focus products to the Italian market from its offices in Milan and Rome. Micro Focus, the London, UK at Mountain View, California Cobol specialists, has just reported revenues up 125% to $5.3 m in the first quarter of its current financial year (CI No 3,411).
