Fujitsu has developed a new series from the PLEMIA family of technology-data management systems which will cater to to manufacturing companies aspiring for global expansion.
PLEMIA Global Edition features new product planning capabilities and also incorporates several enhanced global support features.
It also offers development facilities in many different geographic regions to share relevant information and coordinate on development projects.
The new system can be linked to existing PLEMIA M3 applications or other existing systems through Fujitsu’s PLEMIA Technology Data HUB platform application, allowing customers to carry out system migrations and feature upgrades, while providing global support and minimising ICT spending.
PLEMIA Global Edition brings together Fujitsu’s PLEMIA Technology Data HUB platform application and feature enhancements in the areas of product planning, decentralised development and production preparation.
The new data management system includes portfolio analysis, technical compatibility analysis and other features that will enable a company to tag and prioritise product features and in-house technologies that meet certain requirements. It also includes requirement management capabilities for inputting and organising the needs of customers in various countries.
By sharing data with Fujitsu’s ‘VPS/MFG’ 3D virtual verification simulation tool and "GP4" production-line simulator, the system can centrally manage production preparation and bill of materials
PLEMIA Technology Data HUB employs SOA architecture, enabling data to be shared with the customer’s existing technology-data systems while the data sharing capabilities will help customers gain access to standardised interfaces.
THe system can also minimise ICT expenses during the development of peripheral systems, carry out gradual system migrations and feature upgrades and provide global support.
