Information and communications technology (ICT) applications provider Huawei will unveil its new data centre switches, CloudEngine 12800.

The CloudEngine series provides an improved way to tap into the opportunities presented by cloud computing and ICT convergence.

The new switches provides a switching capacity of up to 48Tbps and bandwidth of 2Tbps per slot, the company said.

CloudEngine 12800 and the CloudEngine 5800/6800 top-of-rack switches support connectivity for Gigabit Ethernet, 10G Ethernet, and 40/100G Ethernet, as well as features for network virtualisation and computing, storage and network convergence.

The new line of switches can support evolution of four generations of servers over a 10 year span, helping customers build a sustainable centre network infrastructure with long-term stability, the company claimed.

Huawei has also introduced a new telepresence application, which features a screen gap of 5.5mm.

As part of the demostration of the switches at the Interop industry show in Las Vegas, US the company has built a reliable campus network.

Huawei’s campus network will power networking connectivity for over 350 exhibitors and over 15,000 attendees at Interop, providing secure and stable access to the wired/wireless connectivity for IP voice, video and data services.
