Anglo-Dutch systems integrator CMG Plc has signed a deal with Crystal Systems Solutions to offer the Herzliya, Israel-based company’s conversion tool as part of its services offering in the European market. CMG will incorporate Crystal’s euro conversion tool, its platform migration that switches Cobol to Java, and legacy database migration to DB2. The services will be available are the UK, the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Germany.

Frank Kuijper, a management consultant with CMG says that CMG will use the tool to target vertical markets in the finance, trade, transport, industry, public sectors, telecomunications and energy industries. Kuijper said that CMG was convinced by Crystal’s ability to offer multiple implementation plans, including phased conversion to the euro or the short-term ‘big bang’ strategy, as well as its technical expertise in data wrapping, protecting the data with an insulating interface.
