Oracle has released a new Web self-service platform that helps utilities give their customers online options for paying bills, requesting service, and reducing costs.

Oracle Utilities Customer Self Service is pre-integrated across the Oracle Utilities suite of applications, including Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing, Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management and Oracle Utilities Network Management System.

The new platform provides enhanced account and security management across self-service modules and enables customers to manage registration, passwords, alerts, notifications and more.

The new service will allow utilities’ customers to manage financial transactions and also help them review their consumption history and compare different rate plan options.

Customers can now manage electronic billing, including one-time payments and recurring payments, as well as request payment arrangements.

Oracle Utilities Customer Self Service provides an online venue for customers to interact with their utility and will help utilities to build a new portal or supplement an existing one. Web content is accessible through desktop, laptop and mobile browsers.

The new application also reduces utilities’ total cost of ownership for Web self-service and helps
utilities to reduce maintenance costs by deploying updates and new features that become available, without breaking the existing Web portal.
