News Corp Ltd says it has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Healtheon Corp, which is the process of acquiring WebMD Inc to explore partnerships over the next 90 days. The Rupert Murdoch-run media company believes health and fitness will be one of the priorities for the future of our company and it intends to explore media and branding services, an international joint venture and cable TV health and fitness services in the US with Healtheon/WebMD. The news was good for a 3% rise in Healtheon’s stock but didn’t prevent News Corp’s falling 1.1%. They closed at $40.1875 and $27.5625 respectively.
