Document management firm FileNet Corp, which reported healthy first quarter revenues of $74m, up 55% from the same quarter last year, and profits of $2.5m, after a year in the doldrums, has appointed ex IBMer Lee Roberts as its new chief executive officer. He replaces current CEO Ted Smith, who at 68 will stay on at the company as chairman of the board. FileNet has now completed the integration of software from previous acquisitions (CI No 3,335) and launched a new generation of its imaging software under the Panagon name. Filenet says it is working with Microsoft Corp on new product development, marketing and support programs.
