Sqribe Technologies Inc this week released a software integration module that it says gives companies who use its enterprise portal product better access to their PeopleSoft Inc data. The Redwood City, California software vendor’s RM/QuickConnect for PeopleSoft is designed to integrate with Sqribe’s ReportMart portal product to provide seamless access to PeopleSoft’s ERP applications, such as its HR, manufacturing and finance modules. Specifically, it facilitates the publishing and distribution of PeopleSoft report content; taking user and organizational structures from PeopleSoft trees and tables, and integrating them into Sqribe’s ReportMart portal. This basically means that any user trying to access PeopleSoft data can see the different reports available under separate group headings, without having to search manually, as was the case in the past, said Barry Engel, Sqribe’s senior product manager.
Engel said Sqribe’s portal software provided integration with PeopleSoft data before but that the new RM/QuickConnect module enhances the integration by automatically delivering the data in a format that lets the user see where the content is. Before, users could access the data but there was no guide to tell them how to find the specific content they required, so you had to search for it manually, he said, but integrating with PeopleSoft’s organizational hierarchies now means users gain access to data from a simple, web-based interface that groups the reports into different areas so you know where to find them. Engel added that Sqribe plans to release other QuickConnect modules for the other ERP applications. SAP will come first, but the company is also planning modules for JD Edwards, Baan and others.
RM/QuickConnect also provides capabilities for initializing or updating portal access privileges with user and account information extracted from PeopleSoft tables. Additionally, it facilitates batch publishing of reports into the ReportMart portal, including custom SQR (Sqribe’s own reporting tools for PeopleSoft) reports or other reporting applications such as Crystal or nVision. RM/QuickConnect for PeopleSoft is available immediately and costs $6,000. ReportMart pricing starts at $30,000.
