Microsoft Corp, fed up with constantly having to rebuild its MSN Messenger instant messaging product, has sent an open letter to America Online Inc’s CEO Steve Case, asking him to stop blocking access to AOL’s AIM instant messaging software. The letter, also signed by executives from Activerse Inc, ExciteAtHome, Infoseek Corp, Prodigy Communications Corp, Tribal Voice and Yahoo! Inc, was sent out late Thursday night. It asked AOL to join standardization efforts headed by the Internet Engineering Task Force. รก
