Herb Rush, the founder of server-side Java software company Novera Inc, and before that SNA to TCP/IP connectivity software company Brixton Systems Inc, has stepped aside as chief executive of Novera and has been replaced with David Power, who joins the Burlington, Massachusetts company after two years as senior VP marketing and corporate development at Security Dynamics Inc. Rush stays on as chairman and will concentrate on technology development at the company. No further details were available from the company. Power, prior to Security Dynamics, was at Sun Microsystems Inc, where he was general manager of SunSelect, and before that was COO of AT&T Corp’s New Media Services unit. Novera began life in 1995 as the developer of a Java-based network operating system it called Epic, but recently repositioned itself towards offering Java development and Java application and management servers as an integrated package.
