Production of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is said to have been halted to load it with a 1GHz dual-core processor.

The upgrade could see Samsung’s Exynos 4412 quad-core processor, as well as the company’s up coming Galaxy S3′, which is considered faster than the existing CPU’s, reported CNET citing Netbook News.

The tablet is expected to be unveiled in the US on May 13, in line with its official launch date, after which a UK launch is expected.

Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 was earlier announced at Mobile World Congress back in February and was scheduled to arrive in March.

The 10-inch Tab 2 will boast a 1,280×800 WXGA display with a pixel density of 149 pixel per inch (ppi).

The tablet is expected to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and will be just 565g and 8.6mm slim.

Reports reveal Samsung’s latest Exynos 4412 chip, a quad-coreprocessor capable of running at 1.5GHz, to feature in the upcoming tablet, though this has to be confirmed.
