Sony Corp’s new MP3 Walkman looks like it could have a limited audience when it is first released on the market. The internet- enabled update to Sony’s seminal portable music player was launched in New York last night. The player will use Sony’s Flash-based Memory Stick storage to hold the music data. Users can download MP3 files onto their PCs and then transfer the files onto the 32Mb sticks. However, at the moment, the only way that users are able transfer that data is through the Sony Viao PC range which has the memory stick card slots. Other devices with the storage ports include Sony digital cameras and Sony’s best- selling robot dog, AIBO.
