Telecommunications infrastructure applications provider ADVA Optical Networking today launched new Syncjack suite which is designed to deliver precise timing synchronisation and assurance across mobile backhaul networks.

As mobile operators migrate to 4G networks, the suite helps in accessing accurate timing sources as well as continuously monitor service performance.

Syncjack is integrated into the FSP 150 and offers a complete synchronisation application for mobile backhaul networks, which includes the delivery and quality assurance of timing information.

The new release features an implementation of SyncE and IEEE 1588v2 functionality guaranteeing highly accurate delivery of timing information across any network.

It also includes a complete synchronisation network management platform with emphasis on predictability and quality assurance.

The new suite will offer an extensive set of tools that will allow operators to display the synchronisation network topology, monitor and test the quality of the delivered timing information as well as analyse and troubleshoot the network in case of quality impairments.

ADVA Optical Networking chief technology officer Christoph Glingener said synchronization and assurance on one platform is something that has not been done before.

"It provides in-depth understanding on the performance of the timing network and this is critical when leasing backhaul connectivity,"Glingener said.
