Offshore software developers will cash in on the US market, according to a US analyst who has identified a shortage of skilled development staff. David Grossman from NationsBanc Montgomery Securities told the Annual Technology Week conference last week that rapidly changing technology, the explosion of the internet and a demand for enterprise software has resulted in a massive increase in the numbers of jobs available in the US software development market. Grossman says since the mid 1980’s there has been a 40% decrease in information technology graduates, and as a result 10% of software development jobs, which translates to 350,000 are unfilled.
