The Snap web directory will soon be available in an individually- wrapped form. From the fourth quarter of 1998, SBC Internet Services, a division of SBC Communications Inc, will provide its 340,000 subscribers with a customized version of Snap’s portal services. Snap, which is jointly owned by San Francisco-based CNet Inc and New York-based NBC Inc, will become SBC’s default home page. However when customers of SBC’s Southwestern Bell, Pacific Bell or Nevada Bell Internet Services launch their browser, a personalized Snap start page will appear. Each customer will have access to their own local weather, news, movie listings and classifieds, maps and driving directions, Yellow and White Pages, stock portfolios and sports scores.
