Geac Computer Corporation Ltd, the Markham, Ontario-based provider of industry specific enterprise software applications, has made its sixth acquisition this year with the purchase of TWG Technologies Inc, a small, privately owned systems integrator from Vancouver, British Columbia. The acquisition price was not disclosed, but with TWG’s annual revenues only stretching to $3m, the price paid is unlikely to be material to Geac’s figures. Stephen Sadler, the head of Geac’s mergers and acquisitions department, said the deal was intended to broaden his company’s portfolio of service offerings. Geac has now bought more than 40 companies since adopting its all out growth by acquisition strategy, and this year’s purchases range from software providers in the real estate industry to vendors of restaurant point of sale hardware. Geac has a permanent ‘Acquisitions Wanted ‘ sign posted on its web site which invites all potential acquirees to contact Geac at acquire@geac.com.
