Information and communications technology (ICT) applications provider Huawei in partnership with Altibox has demonstrated a 200Gbit/s high-speed line card which is designed for routers at The Gathering, the computer party being held in Hamar, Norway.
For this demostration, Huawei provides 200 Gbit/s high-speed line cards, NE5000E high-end routers, and OptiX OSN 8800 dense wavelength division equipment.
The company will install NE5000Es in both Oslo and Hamar to provide 200GE access, and uses OptiX OSN 8800 to demonstrate the high speed transmission between 180 km distance.
Huawei Carrier IP Product Line vice-president Hu Wei said the company has partnered with Altibox to establish a new network and offering an enhanced service experience for computer enthusiasts.
"The online test by over 6000 users further demonstrates that Huawei’s products, including 200 Gbit/s high-speed line cards, are extremely secure and stable," said Hu Wei.
Altibox is an internet, IPTV and VoIP services provider which distributes its services over 35 local Norwegian and 6 Danish FTTH networks.
