Assurance Storage and Fujitsu Frontech North America (FFNA) have partnered to jointly release SAN Velocity, the new NuVola Private Cloud Platform Solution Appliance.
SAN Velocity, powered by Fujitsu, utilises OCZ enterprise class Deneva 2 solid state drives.
It combines Assurance Storage’s ApplicationSmart with Fujitsu’s server hardware.
ApplicationSmart will manage data cache and metadata through autonomic intelligence frequency based algorithms.
The new appliance and ApplicationSmart’s combined architecture will manage data stores to enhance application performance and eliminate the limitations of using SSD and PCIe architectures for OLTP, database applications and storage cache management.
The new device will optimise the performance of I/O intensive applications through intelligent, autonomic data cache and tier management.
SAN Velocity Appliance with ApplicationSmart will help Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) increase precision and access speed and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) provide real-time data updates.
It also includes database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server provides metadata management for large content repositories and cache management engine for NAS / SAN storage.
