The Taiwanese phone provider HTC has announced that it will be shutting down its Sense backup service on April 30.

Owing to this, the data which has been availed of by users to sync the contacts, messages and call history will be erased, the company said.

The company said it would be renovating HTCSense.com.

It says HTCSense.com is undergoing a renovation to improve the services and value it delivers to customers.

"Until the new services are ready, features previously available on HTCSense.com will be shutting down, " it adds.

HTC has asked customers to visit the website to download their data before it shuts down.

It also adds, "If you would like phone location or backup services for your device, please visit Google Play (formerly Android Market) and download an application that best meets your needs."

The company is, however, yet to disclose the details of the service that will take the place of HTCSense.com.
