IT services firm Computer Sciences Corp reported third-quarter net income up 25.9% at $87m on revenue up 15.9% at $1.93bn. Earnings per share rose 22.7% to $0.54, in line with Wall Street expectations. For the nine-month period, net income rose 24.5% to $224.4m on revenue up 16.9% at $5.53bn, while EPS rose 21.9% to $1.39. The company says the quarter was boosted by European revenue that rose 29.4% to $608.5m, with France and the UK showing strong performances. Revenue from the US federal sector, meanwhile, increased 8.6% to $413.4m, while US commercial revenue rose 10.3% to $785.5m. So far this fiscal year the company says it has won $4.4bn in US commercial, federal and international contracts, not including December’s award by the Internal Revenue Service, the value of which CSC says is difficult to estimate. á
