RM Plc, the Oxfordshire, UK company that is the dominant supplier of IT systems and services to schools, continues to benefit from heavy government investment in the education sector designed to give all pupils internet access. In the year to September 30, net income rose 28.7% to 6.5m pounds on revenue that increased 23.8% to 162,210 pounds. Earnings per share increased 25.6% to 9.8 pence.

Chief executive Richard Girling says that RM has now established a significant position in the emerging managed services marketplace and currently manages over 12,000 desktops, compared with less than 1,000 a year ago. He warns that the year ahead will again be seasonal, with only a small fraction of total profits generated in the first half.
