US based telecommunications firm AT&T said HTC Vivid smartphone customers can now upgrade Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), which includes Beats by Dr. Dre Audio and enhanced HTC Sense experience.

Beats by Dr. Dre Audio enhances user’s music and video experience of Android 4.0, which makes common actions more visible and lets the user to navigate with simple gestures, AT&T said.

Android 4.0 upgrade also introduces a face unlock feature, a new screen-lock option that lets a user unlock his device using facial recognition.

The upgraded Android incorporates Vivid’s facial recognition technology to register a face during setup and then to recognise it again when unlocking the device.

Android 4.0 upgrade on the HTC Vivid will be followed by several other AT&T devices, including LG Nitro, Motorola ATRIX 2, Motorola ATRIX 4G, Pantech Burst, Pantech Element, Samsung Galaxy phones and Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.
