Party-plan company Scentsy Group is deploying EMC VNX unified storage to manage expansion of its goal of a 100% virtualised information infrastructure.
The company leverages EMC VNX unified storage with a FLASH 1st implementation and uses FAST VP (fully automated storage tiering for virtual pools), FAST Cache, and a tiered-drive architecture with Flash drives to achieve operational efficiency.
The FLASH 1st architecture enables Scentsy to achieve a 30% performance increase of its virtualised infrastructure, EMC said, adding that Scentsy data is automatically tiered to the cost-effective drive capacity based on its pre-defined policies by using the FAST Suite.
Scentsy also caters its growing IT infrastructure by using EMC backup and recovery tools, VMware vSphere, View 4.5 and vCenter virtualisation, and cloud infrastructure offerings.
The company its virtual servers and virtual desktops using VMware View 4.5, vCenter and vSphere.
Integrating VNX and VMware enables Scentsy to provide ten new virtual desktops in 30 minutes or less, while EMC Avamar enables the Scentsy to backup its virtualised infrastructure in less time each night.
