Israeli-American network security software house Check Point Software Technologies Ltd has announced that founder of the US subsidiary, Deborah Triant Rieman has stepped down as chief executive in a reshuffling of the overall company’s senior management team. Triant Rieman, who will remain on the board of directors and work on business strategy, said she is leaving to spend more time with her family and that the change has been in the works for some time. The move comes as part of a consolidation of management that the company says reflects the globalization and integration of its operational units. The US subsidiary, which Triant Rieman has headed since 1995, will now fall under the control of senior executive Jerry Ungerman and his team. Ungerman, who was named executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing in November, also has responsibility for the business development and technical services. Gil Shwed, CEO of the Israeli parent company of the same name, will maintain his position.
