LPA Releases Document Management Software

By CBR Staff Writer

Logic Programming Associates Ltd (LPA), a UK software tools developer, has designed a document management product that it claims will enable insurers or lawyers to process policy documents faster and more efficiently. ScaffoldIT enables Windows NT-based lawyers, for example, to build a template with variable fields for the particular legal clause, the geographic region where the case is being held, and the explanation of why the clause is relevant to the case. A series of simple logic steps supplies the explanations on the basis of the clause and region specified.

LPA prices ScaffoldIT at 18,000 pounds ($28,200) and is distributing it initially in the UK, and then across the Netherlands and Scandinavia. The company is looking to sign an OEM deal for US distribution within 12 months, according to marketing director Clive Spenser, and it is currently in talks with Open Text and PC Docs.
