Hyperion Solutions Corp, the Sunnyvale, California-based analytical applications provider has released a new suite of analytic applications called the Hyperion Enterprise Management (HEM). The suite contains no new technology, but combines Hyperion’s own products with components from a reseller agreement established with Canadian analytic applications vendor, Sapling Corp in February this year. The suite operates on the Essbase OLAP (OnLine Analytic Processing) Server, developed by Arbor Software Corp which merged last year with Hyperion Software Corp to produce Hyperion Solutions.
The HEM suite includes business planning and financial consolidation, reporting and analysis components from Hyperion, with performance management and activity based management components from Sapling. Hyperion hopes the components from Sapling will help to take the product to the sales and marketing, human resources and manufacturing departments within a company. Hyperion plans to add further components over the next six months, also aimed more broadly, says director EMEA of product marketing, Ian Macdonald. These components, which will be developed in-house by Hyperion, will be profitability management, benchmarking and strategic planning, says Macdonald.
