Charles Wang, president of Computer Associates International Inc, sent a wave of speculation across Europe when he said he knew the name of the next company it plans to take-over following its failed bid for Computer Sciences Corp failed. When he wouldn’t reveal who it was, inventive journalists were quick to come up with some possible candidates such as Cap Gemini and Electronic Data Systems Inc. Wang said CA was approached by several companies asking to be taken over. He told the newspaper La Tribune in Paris: From the moment that our bid for Computer Sciences failed, many companies have contacted us because they knew we had $10bn at our disposal to invest in the sector. I already know who I am going to buy. After being hurt personally by the bitter battle over CSC, Wang clearly has his sights on companies more eager for a merger.
