Our US sources report Fujitsu Ltd and Siemens Computer Systems are holding off on making public any more detail about their FujiSiemens alliance which was to have been trumpeted Tuesday. Instead the alliance – a global sales relationship and a joint European venture of Fujitsu and Siemens’ computer businesses – is making a statement of direction available to its salesforce to let them know exactly what they will be trying to sell and from where. There may be a press conference sometime next week which may address a limited set of issues, though our US sources weren’t clear and Europe had closed by the time we went to press. What the company is clearly concerned about is the mainstream media getting its hands on details of any workforce losses. รก
