In mid-June, the object division of Westboro-based Ardent Software Inc. (formerly O2 Technology of Versailles), will move another step toward database independence, says Sophie Gamerman, product manager. In introducing C++ Relational Binding (CRB) interface, users will be able to more easily exploit their C++ data with any industry-standard relational database. Furthermore, she noted, the group’s Java Relational Binding interface will be getting its ODMG certification within the next couple of weeks. Helene Gans, chief executive for the division, added that the fusion of the three groups has been completed, with the departure to the US of a group of researchers to Ardent’s Denver site and the recruitment of new replacements in the Versailles office. The object division is now 100-strong, she said.
