Spanish fibre optic telecommunications operator R has implemented Application Delivery Networking (ADN) firm F5’s converged carrier infrastructure applications in its ISP network to take advantage of service virtualisation, load balancing, web application security and improved ability to scale service provisioning on a single VIPRION platform.

VIPRION’s vCMP technology allows different services to be isolated, even on a single blade and combines virtualisation and multi-tenancy capabilities to help customers consolidate and manage application and service delivery.

R leverages vCMP technology by implementing F5 BIG-IP Application Security Manager and will roll out F5 BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager on the same VIPRION platform.

The VIPRION 2400 platform enables customers to take advantage of the inherent capabilities of the VIPRION architecture, including on-demand throughput, SSL processing, compression and CPU resources.

VIPRION applications also act as a SuperVIP, a virtual IP that can span multiple blades, enabling applications to harness the processing power of all the blades within the system.
