Siemens AG’s US structure took a firmer shape today with the announcement of three new divisions, which include the Siemens Information and Communications Products LLC and Siemens Business Services LLC. The new divisions, a result of Siemens’ restructuring announced in April this year, meld elements of Siemens Nixdorf Information Systems, with different divisions of Siemens’ communications and networking units. The Information and Communications Products subsidiary is made up of Communications devices, Computer Systems, SNI’s Retail and Banking products, communication cables and IT services, all of which can be packaged in various forms to corporate users. The outsourcing unit has brought in Walter Gerdes, formally vice president of sales and marketing at Electronic Data Services, to head up its new outsourcing unit. The new subsidiary ties together services staff from SNI, and Siemens’ public and private networking divisions. The unit will provide integration services that cover voice and data integration through to the integration of large enterprise resource planning systems across the US, Canada and Mexico.
