Cable & Wireless Plc, the London, UK-based international carrier, has opened a new web hosting center in Reston, Virgina as the first step in a two-year operation to open 20 centers worldwide. In a bid to grab a slice of a web hosting market estimated to grow in value to $23bn by 2002, C&W plans to provide a total of 1 million square feet of web hosting space worldwide. The next six, to be opened within a year, will be at Santa Clara, California, London, Frankfurt, Munich, Tokyo and Sydney.
