Satellite News Services Ltd has teamed with Icast Corp, developer of IP multicast technologies, to integrate Icast’s C:TV real-time voice and video broadcast systems with its satellite broadcasting technologies to deliver live streaming audio, video and multimedia content including IP multicast sessions to users. The idea is to enable corporations and multimedia content providers to reach their audiences anywhere in the foot print of the satellite without being restricted by terrestrial LAN connections or unreliable internet connections. Satellite News will also resell ICAST products in the former Soviet Union, Europe, Middle East and North Africa. Satellite News of London is a wholly owned subsidiary of the SatNet Group, a European satellite based telecommunications provider.
