Internet music directory company Listen.com Inc has announced three new investors and the completion of a $25m round of private equity placement. The Barksdale Group led the round, with contributions from Hambrecht & Quist’s Access Technology Partners LP and Sony Music Entertainment. They join a list of investors that already includes Altos Venture, August Capital, Austin Venture, CNet CEO Halsey Minor and Gateway Computers CEO Ted Waitt. Listen.com has raised a total of $35m this year, and little wonder. Since launching its web site only three months ago, Listen.com has grown to 85 employees and doubled the size of its downloadable music directory.
