Decision support software house MicroStrategy Inc has finally announced the availability of the DSS Broadcaster server it has been talking about since March (CI No 3,372). The technology that the company feels will bring active data warehousing to the masses via email, fax or mobile phone – and eventually to voicemail – is shipping now and is priced starting at $35,000 for DSS Broadcaster Server and a yet to be determined number of Broadcaster seats. Additional seats will go for $295 with built-in discounts for volume purchases. The product will be sold by both MicroStrategy and resellers. The company boasts that several major customers were quick to embrace the product, including MCI Corp, Allied Signal Inc and Perot Systems Corp.
