Oracle Systems Performance Group, part of the database company’s consulting and services arm, has inked a licensing agreement with Metron Technology Ltd, giving it global use of the Taunton, UK company’s Athene capacity management software. Athene, which runs against Unix, Windows NT or OS/390 systems, is Europe’s biggest capacity management package, but Metron hopes that Oracle’s wider interest in the product will help it grow a global user base. In the short term Metron said the license deal is worth around 60,000 pounds ($100,206) over nine months, with further 50,000 pounds ($83,505) of revenue likely to stem from related training fees.
