Pacific Gateway Exchange Inc, the Burlingame, California-based international telecommunications carrier, said Tuesday that it would acquire Onyx Internet Ltd, a UK-based internet service provider. No financial terms of the transaction were disclosed. The deal, which will be carried out by wholly-owned subsidiary PGExpress, both expands the company’s presence in the European market while extending its product offerings beyond dedicated IP transit and co-location services to include web development, web hosting and dial-up access for business customers. Onyx Internet claims to serve roughly 3,000 small-to-medium-sized businesses and residential customers throughout England and Scotland and books revenue of over 1m pounds ($1.6m) annually. á
